Melges 24 Norwegian Championship

The Melges 24 Norwegian Championship was held in Fredrikstad, 5–7 September 2025, drawing 17 boats for three days of light and shifty conditions. Despite the challenges, the racing remained close, tactical, and exciting.


NTNUI Seil proudly fielded three boats with a total of 15 student sailors, a remarkable turnout that underlined the club’s depth and spirit.

Podium Success and Strong Fleet Performances

  • 2nd place – UNO S (NOR 592)
    Helmed by Edward Legg Lysberg, with crew Nora Anderson, Conrad Muller, Aslak Iveland, and Jonas Monastery, UNO S sailed consistently across the series to claim a superb silver medal.

  • 5th place – The Shaman (NOR 527)
    Steered by Guro Gjesdal, with crew Theodore Nystrom, Haakon Malmbeck, Erland Handguard, and Einar Aarnaes, The Shaman secured a strong top-five finish in the championship.

  • 13th place – Mrs Fern (NOR 402)
    Skippered by Cornelia Middelthon, with crew Jacob Odenwald, Maria Heiberg Larsen, Victor Scherer, and Sandra Slåttelia, Mrs Fern showed resilience and teamwork, gaining valuable national-level racing experience.

With 15 NTNUI students making up nearly an entire fifth of the regatta’s sailors, the club left a big mark on the championship. From a silver medal podium finish, to a top-five, to developing talent gaining crucial race time, NTNUI demonstrated their ability to compete at the highest level while nurturing the next generation of sailors.
