BOOT Düsseldorf 2025
18-26 January 2025
by Rachael England
Despite the chilly weather in Düsseldorf, BOOT 2025 proved to be an exceptional event for Ullman Sails, showcasing growth, collaboration, and an enhanced presence at one of the industry's premier shows.
For the initial days of the event, the Ullman Sails sales team included Jon Pegg (Ullman Sails UK), Nils Bouwman (Ullman Sails Benelux), and Morgan Evans (Ullman Sails South Africa). Lucille Hills, Manager of the Finishing Department at Ullman Sails South Africa, also attended, contributing her extensive sailmaking expertise to support the team and assist with reception duties. We were also pleased to welcome Alvaro Garcia Requena, one of our newest and youngest licensees from Ullman Sails Spain & Canary Islands, who joined the team a few days into the show.
The improvements made to the stand setup, sail samples, and marketing materials attracted significant interest, resulting in over 60 customer meetings across the 10-day show.
Phill Burman from Balance Catamarans sat with Michael England, the CEO, for an insightful interview for the Balance Catamaran community, highlighting the craftsmanship and performance of our sails. Additionally, Greg Bertish from The Little Optimist, personally invited by Messe Frankfurt, brought an extra layer of inspiration to the event.
It was especially rewarding to hear visitors share their personal experiences sailing with Dave Ullman, reinforcing our brand’s legacy and the lasting impact of our sails.
Special thanks go to Nils Bouwman for his invaluable assistance in preparing for the show, and to Morgan Evans for his dedication in helping with stand setup, breakdown, and team support. A heartfelt thank you to Jon Pegg, whose unwavering energy kept spirits high throughout the event, and to Alvaro Garcia Requena — we are excited to see the growth and success of Ullman Sails Spain & Canary Islands.
Finally, we extend our gratitude to Michael England, Michael Wittels, and the Ullman Sails South Africa team for their hard work in making this event possible. BOOT 2025 has set a positive tone for the year ahead, and we look forward to seeing even more European lofts represented at future events as we continue to build on this momentum.
