Hermanus Cape Classic 2025

On 15-16 February, Sean van Aswegen and Sean Kavanagh competed in the Hermanus Cape Classic in the Western Cape, South Africa, proudly wearing our red and blue colors.

This event saw 98 dinghies across 9 classes, the Hermanus Yacht Club lawn was filled with dinghies, some super tricky light wind conditions with a number of ‘holes’ along the race courses. This regatta threw many of the competitors, pushing them to show off all their knowledge. 

Sean van Aswegen competed in the Optimist A fleet, he took home the bronze medal. 11 boats in the A fleet and  10 in the B fleet. Sean is very happy with his efforts. In his words, “The sail felt great and had lots of power, even in the light wind.” We couldn’t be more proud of him, Well done Sean!

Sean Kavanagh took home gold in the Dabchick fleet, with 7 boats in the fleet Sean showed us what he’s made of and sailed away with six bullets out of 8 races. Congratulations on yet another gold!
