Cape Classic - Zeekoevlei Yacht Club
13–14 September marked the start of the three-part Cape Classic Series at Zeekoevlei Yacht Club, with sailors facing two days of truly varied conditions.
- Day 1 brought strong winds and choppy waters, pushing crews to the limit across three races.
- Day 2 eased into lighter breeze and smoother water, creating near-perfect conditions for five more races.

Across the fleets, a wide variety of dinghies shared the course: ILCA, Mirrors, 420s, Dabchicks, Extras, and Optimists, making for exciting mixed racing. The Optimist fleet in particular turned out strong, showcasing the depth of junior sailing talent.

Ullman-Powered Results
Some of our customers delivered outstanding performances on the water:
- Hayden Miller & Howard Leoto showcased their new Ullman sails in the 420 fleet, storming to 1st place overall.
- Sean van Aswegen put in an exceptional effort, finishing 2nd in the Optimist A fleet after a nail-biting points battle, alternating between 1st and 2nd place across races, and narrowly missing gold by just three points.
- Sean Kavanagh made a strong return to his Dabchick, showing dominance with an incredible 8 bullets.
- Grant Eckerman & Luke Liebrecht also impressed in the Mirror fleet, chasing their own streak of 8 race wins.

The Cape Classic continues with its next installment at Theewater Sports Club on 6 December, where sailors will be looking to build on early-season form.
Congratulations to everyone who competed, it’s fantastic to see the dinghy season back in full swing for the summer season
