This year’s J22 Nationals had been up in the air, quite literally, for months. Back in December, it wasn’t even clear if the Vaal Dam would be able to host the event at all. Water levels were so low that none of the surrounding yacht clubs could launch keelboats.

ULLMAN SAILS SOUTH AFRICA

The 2025 Tuzi Tekwini Ocean Race took off in true East Coast fashion on June 14, sending a fleet of 16 yachts south from Richards Bay to Durban over roughly 90 nautical miles of warm water, steady breeze, and tactical offshore sailing.

On 15-16 February, Sean van Aswegen and Sean Kavanagh competed in the Hermanus Cape Classic in the Western Cape, South Africa, proudly wearing our red and blue colors.

The 2025 Cape 31 V&A Waterfront Invitational Regatta took place from February 21st to 23rd. With nine boats on the start line, including three international entries—one from Italy, another from Austria, and a third from Hungary—the competition was fierce over the three days of racing.
