Celebrating Community
On the Water: Ullman Sails Women's Series
There was no better way to kick off this global celebration than with Race Day 1 of the Ullman Sails South Africa Women's Series at the Royal Cape Yacht Club. Now proudly in its third consecutive year, this premier series has grown into a powerhouse movement for local sailing.
This weekend saw an incredible milestone with 109 women out on the water, taking the helm, trimming lines, and dominating the racecourse under the rugged shadow of Table Bay. Sailing in Cape Town demands total focus, sharp tactical foresight, and absolute confidence in your gear. This series is a dedicated platform designed to elevate female leadership, precision, and talent in the sport, proving that when the pressure is on, our community stands strong together.
On the Shore: The Global Maritime Women’s Walk
This incredible energy carried directly from the racecourse to the shore as the local marine sector rallied for the Global Maritime Women’s Walk. Held in the beautiful city of Cape Town, the walk celebrated the incredible women shaping the maritime industry. From seafarers and scientists to cleaners, leaders, and change-makers, the day honored the achievements, strength, and growing impact of women across the sector.
The walk brought together people from across the maritime community for a morning of connection, inspiration, and celebration. There was laughter, energy, and a strong sense of unity as participants walked together in support of inclusion and opportunity in the industry. Fun was had, stories were shared, and the spirit of women in maritime shone brightly.
