Your Balance Is Built for You. Your Sails Should Be Too.
Two owners can choose the same Balance model and still need very different sail inventories.
How and where you sail will influence the right cloth, construction and sail inventory for your boat. Cruising grounds, passage plans, typical wind conditions, crew size and handling preferences all play a part in that decision.
That is why we begin with the owner. By understanding how you plan to use your Balance, we can recommend an inventory with the right balance of performance, durability and handling for your needs.

BUILD YOUR SAIL INVENTORY
Carry the Sails You Will Actually Use
A larger sail inventory may cover more wind angles, but every additional sail adds weight, takes up storage space and introduces another sail that must be deployed, handled and maintained.
For many Balance owners, particularly those sailing short-handed, a smaller, well-planned inventory can provide more usable performance than carrying several sails that rarely leave their bags.
Weight
How each additional sail contributes to the boat’s total load.
Storage
Where the sail will be kept and how easily it can be accessed.
Handling
Whether it can be deployed, controlled and stowed comfortably.
Crew size
Whether you are coastal cruising, crossing oceans or combining both.
Sailing Conditions
The wind strengths and angles you are most likely to encounter.
Passage Plans
How each additional sail contributes to the boat’s total load.
