The Pursuit of Precision:
Celebrating the craft, commitment and continual refinement that
drive every sailor.

The best sailors know that speed isn't found in a single breakthrough. It's built through countless small refinements, an adjusted halyard, a better sail shape, a perfectly timed tack or another day spent learning on the water.

Few classes embody that philosophy better than the International Six Metres. For more than a century, they've rewarded preparation, teamwork and relentless attention to detail.

This month's European Championship brings together some of the world's finest sailors to continue that tradition, with Nirvana and the Ullman Sails Solent team among those taking on one of the class's biggest stages.

The Next Generation of J/22 Performance:

The J/22 has stood the test of time for a reason. Simple to sail yet endlessly rewarding to master, it remains one of the world's most competitive one-design classes. We take a closer look at what has kept this iconic boat at the front of the fleet for decades, and why sailors continue to choose Ullman Sails to stay there.

Round the Island Race: A Classic Challenge

Few races capture the spirit of British sailing quite like the Round the Island Race. Every year, thousands of sailors, from Olympic campaigners and professional crews to families and first-time competitors, come together to circumnavigate the Isle of Wight in one of the world's largest participation yacht races.

The race isn't just memorable because of the competition. It's the sight of hundreds upon hundreds of sails filling the Solent, the anticipation on the start line and the shared experience of so many sailors taking on the same challenge. Before the starting gun, there's a moment to simply look around. Sails of every colour fill the skyline, halyards tap rhythmically against aluminium masts, crews call final instructions and the breeze carries the unmistakable sound of hundreds of boats coming to life. It's a scene that's difficult to describe until you've experienced it—a reminder of just how special this race really is. Add in shifting tides, changing breeze and iconic landmarks like The Needles, and it's easy to see why so many crews return year after year.

Ullman Sails was proudly represented throughout the fleet, with customers and loft teams taking on the challenge across a range of classes. Congratulations to everyone who made it around the island, we're already looking forward to next year's race.

Road to the International 14 Worlds

The pursuit of better never really ends. Whether it's refining a sail design, preparing for a world championship or learning something new after a day on the water, progress is built one small step at a time. In this month's newsletter, we celebrate the sailors, sailmakers and teams who embody that mindset, and the stories that remind us why we all keep coming back to the water

J/70 European Championship: Hang Ten Delivers in Barcelona

The 2026 J/70 European Championship brought together one of the strongest one-design fleets of the season, with 82 boats representing 24 countries battling it out on the waters off Barcelona.

Congratulations to Hang Ten (ESP 1706) on an exceptional championship, finishing second overall, claiming the title of European Champions as the highest-placed European team, and securing the Corinthian European Championship.

Results like these are never built on a single race. They come from countless hours on the water, continuous refinement and a team committed to getting the best from every opportunity. We're especially proud that Hang Ten achieved this success flying an Ullman Sails Asymmetrical Spinnaker, designed by Lars Bo Poulsen, with the support of Álvaro Garcea Requena and the team at Ullman Sails Spain.

Congratulations to Món Cañellas, Alberto Guillén, Ricard Castellví, Pol Font and everyone behind the Hang Ten programme on a remarkable achievement at one of the most competitive one-design championships in the world.

Our Impact

Every race has a result, but that's rarely what defines a sailor. It's the early mornings, the late nights in the loft, the extra hour spent tuning and

the conversations after racing about what could be better. Progress comes from a willingness to keep learning, one small improvement at a time.

The same is true at Ullman Sails. We aren't defined by a single podium finish or championship win, but by the dedication of sailors, sailmakers and loft teams around the world. Together, those small decisions add up to something much bigger. Thank you for being part of that journey. We'll see you on the water.
